On a special table, a shaft table fitted with bearings coated with a sample of the grease to be tested is run three times in an 8-hour cycle under the specified conditions. At the end of the run, the outer raceway of the bearing in the table is inspected and the degree of corrosion is measured with a dial. The method covers the determination of corrosion-preventive properties of greases using grease-lubricated ball bearings under dynamic wet conditions.
